The Silla-Tang Alliance
Silla-Tang Alliance was a partnership between Silla and Tang China in the mid 7th century. This partnership helped Silla to conquer Koguryo and Paekche and bring the Three Kingdoms Period to its end. Silla then formed the United Silla Kingdom which was the first time that Korea was unified as a whole.
This unification brought a golden age with many advances in architecture, mathematical, metalwork, astronomy, and the arts as well as a thriving agriculture industry and healthy trade with Japan and China.
If not for this alliance, the three kingdoms would remain in a stalemate and the Unified Silla Kingdom would not have been formed. Korean culture both then and now would be different because it has roots in Chinese culture which was spread because of this alliance.
